Comfort when wearing press ons depends on the natural shape of each nail. Because nail beds differ from person to person, press ons may not feel comfortable for everyone.
Our press ons have a slight curve so they fit closely to the natural nail. If you have very flat or soft natural nails, this can sometimes cause discomfort or pain. This is because the natural nail is pushed into the same curved shape as the press on which can create constant tension.
Another possible reason for discomfort is choosing the wrong size. Press ons that are too narrow or too wide can create pressure and cause pain.
When applying press ons, make sure the nail sits on the natural nail only and does not touch the skin or cuticle. A small gap of about 0.5-1 mm to the surrounding skin is recommended. Choosing the correct size - sometimes one size larger or smaller depending on the fit - can help improve comfort.
In some cases, it is simply a matter of getting used to the feeling. Any initial pressure should usually disappear after 1-2 days.
