Why are the gel strips not curing properly, and why is the transparent layer peeling off?

If the transparent top layer is peeling or lifting, this is often because the edges of the gel strip were not fully cured.

Even under a UV LED lamp, shadows can form – especially on the sides. This can prevent the edges from curing properly, leading to lifting later on.

To ensure your UV gel strips adhere optimally and last longer, please follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your nails carefully: Degrease the nail plate with the included cleaning cloth and thoroughly remove any invisible cuticle.

  2. Correct placement: The strip should not sit on the cuticle or extend beyond the nail edge. When in doubt, choose a smaller size rather than a larger one.

  3. File overhanging edges carefully: Work with even pressure in one direction. Filing too hard or back and forth can damage the layers of the gel strip.

  4. Ensure complete curing: During curing, rotate your fingers 2 × 60 seconds slightly left and right so that the edges receive enough light.

If you follow these steps, the transparent layer should no longer peel off, and your manicure will last significantly longer.
